Follow Focus Gears · 800+ lenses
Follow focus gears made to fit the focus and zoom rings of your photo lenses. Search your lens or pick your brand.

Zeiss glass is a staple of independent film sets, and many of these lenses are already designed for manual focus. A follow focus gear lets you drive them with a motor or a rig-mounted unit. Our Zeiss range is one of the widest we offer, with over a hundred lenses from the Contax and Carl Zeiss Jena era to the modern Otus, Milvus and Loxia lines.
Vintage Contax Zeiss primes are small. The 50mm f/1.7 Planar needs a gear for a 2.36–2.44 in (60–62 mm) focus ring, and the 85mm f/1.4 Planar fits 2.72–2.80 in (69–71 mm). The Milvus 35mm f/2 uses 2.83–2.91 in (72–74 mm), and the large Otus lenses go up to 3.54–3.62 in (90–92 mm) for the Otus 85mm f/1.4.
All gears have Mod 0.8 teeth and work with standard follow focus units. They ship from our Texas warehouse and usually arrive in 3–5 days. US orders from $60 ship free, and you have 14 days to return.

A follow focus gear adds a toothed ring to the focus or zoom ring of your photo lens. A follow focus, wireless motor or lens servo can then turn the lens smoothly, the way you would on a cine lens.
