    Rest the lens on its front

    Put your lens on a table with the front element facing down.

    Slide the gear on

    Guide the gear over the focus ring of your lens.

  3. 3

    Press until flush

    Press down lightly all the way around until the gear lies flat on the ring.

That is all it takes.
